Dr. Clifford Thomas, MBBS MD FRCP
Dr. Clifford Thomas is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians London and a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. He underwent cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship training at the Royal Free Hospital, London, United Kingdom and at the Andreas Gruentzig Cardiovascular Center, Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia.
His academic appointments have included those at the following universities: Johns Hopkins, Emory, Morehouse and the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus; where he has trained medical students, residents and fellows. He has also published papers in peer-reviewed journals, such as Circulation, American Heart Journal, American Journal Cardiology, Thrombosis Res and West Indian Medical Journal.
Dr. Thomas is currently the Managing Director and Director of Interventional Cardiology at Premier Heart Care Ltd, Trinidad and Tobago. He practices clinical, non-invasive and interventional cardiology; and has a keen interest in providing cardiovascular services to developing communities.
His areas of specialty include: left and right cardiac catheterization, coronary angiogram, coronary angioplasty (PCI), coronary stenting, and physiological stress echo (PSE).
