Dr. Ailema Lima, MD
Dr. Ailema Lima, MD is a graduate of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Villa Clara, Cuba. She has specialized in Family Medicine and in Pulmonology at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba, with additional specialist training in spirometry (Latin American Thorax Association). She is a former Consultant Pulmonologist at Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital, Havana, where she trained residents and fellows, served as Chief of Asthma Protocol and was a member of the National Committee of Asthma (Cuba). She has published papers in: the Cuban Journal of Internal Medicine, the Cuban Journal of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery and the Mexican Journal of Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery.
Dr Lima is currently employed as a Primary Care Physician at the St James Medical Complex and a Consultant Pulmonologist at Premier Heart Care Ltd., where she performs lung function testing. She is a member of the Caribbean College of Family Physicians, the Thoracic Society of Trinidad and Tobago (TSOTT), the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the Spanish Society of Pulmonary and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR).
