How is 24-Hr ECG Holter Monitoring performed?
ECG leads are placed on the chest and connected to the miniature ECG Holter Monitor. The Holter Monitor is worn during normal activities for 24 hours. The monitor is disconnected after the 24-hour recording. The recording is downloaded to a computer for analysis and reporting by your cardiologist.
What are some indications for 24-Hr ECG Holter Monitoring?
Symptoms such palpitations, dizziness, fainting or fatigue might be due to an arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm). If these symptoms are intermittent, they may not be detected on a routine ECG and 24-hour holter monitoring may be indicated.
